Teens are not the future of the church, they are the church. We believe that teenagers have within them the full potential to change the world and we will never treat them as less than that. Here is what we do for/with teens in Morgantown:
1. Teen Small Groups
We don’t fixate on a magic hour called “youth group” where kids are supposed to show up at 6pm, play, study, and go home for a week. For us we believe that if faith is going to stick for good in a teen it has to take place in real life. We set up small groups that are age based in 10-12 week semesters that meet in local coffee shops, homes and schools that are mainly led by Godly moms and dads who love their own kids and want to be role models and friends to everyone else’s.
2. Events
We strive to offer things that people can invite anyone to and that also goes for teens. This ranges from concerts of local bands, trips, church camps, and projects.
3. Service Opportunities
A recent study has shown that 9 out of 10 people born after 1985 believe they will one day change the world. At Catalyst, we want to give them their shot. This consists of service projects, mission trips, volunteering at local non-profits and within Catalyst Sunday gatherings. No matter what your Godly passion might be, we have a place that you can fulfill it.
